Over the past eight years, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in the world of teaching, imparting knowledge, and nurturing intellectual growth. My passion for education led me to spend three rewarding years managing a Clinical Biochemistry lab while simultaneously teaching at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
A highlight of my professional journey is achieving certification as a White Belt holder from the Council for Six Sigma Certification in New York, USA. This accomplishment reflects my dedication to excellence and continuous improvement in healthcare operations. Expanding upon this foundation, I've honed my skills through training programs in Lean Management, Six Sigma in Healthcare, and proficiency in Minitab, equipping me with valuable tools to optimize processes and elevate patient care.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge, I've explored specialized areas through certificate courses such as "Whole Genome Sequencing of Bacterial Genomes - Tool and Applications" and "Antimicrobial Resistance - Theory and Methods" from the esteemed Technical University of Denmark. My commitment to holistic professional development is further demonstrated by certificates in intellectual property rights obtained through courses organized by WIPO.
As a Ph.D. holder in Animal Biochemistry, along with qualifications including CSIR-UGC JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-NET, and GATE, I bring a wealth of academic rigor and research acumen to the table.
My major areas of interest encompass Clinical Pathology, Medical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, Immunopathology, and Hematology, showcasing my comprehensive understanding of crucial aspects of healthcare. Dr. Anil Kumar Ram, Ph.D., is a distinguished scholar whose academic journey exemplifies a dedication to excellence and research prowess. With a Ph.D. in Immunopathology from the esteemed Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India, Dr. Ram's educational background is rooted in the life sciences. He holds an M.Sc. in Microbiology from Jiwaji University and a B.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry from the University of Calcutta.
Currently serving as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Ram's expertise spans a wide range of domains, including microbiology and virology. His tenure as a Research Scientist at Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital in Patiala, Punjab, highlights his significant contributions to virology diagnostics, particularly in the molecular diagnosis of viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, HBV, HIV, HCV, and H1N1.
Dr. Ram's doctoral research focused on immunopathology, specifically on identifying plasma and tissue proteins/antigens and viruses associated with biliary atresia, a common cholestatic disorder in children. His pioneering work shed light on the involvement of cholangiotropic viruses in biliary atresia pathogenesis, utilizing cutting-edge proteomic techniques to uncover potential disease biomarkers.
With a diverse research portfolio spanning roles as a Junior Research Fellow at PGIMER and a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, Dr. Ram has garnered extensive experience in tuberculosis immunology and environmental biotechnology.
Recognized for his scholarly contributions, Dr. Ram has received prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Early Career Investigator Travel Award by the Society on Neuroimmune Pharmacology (SNIP) and research fellowships from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
